Sony Ericsson are keeping quiet for the time being about their latest additions to the XPERIA range, the X2, X3 and X5. What little is known about the X2 seems to suggest it will follow on from the success of the X1 but make some important changes too. The 3.5” touch screen has been updated from TFT to OLED although it is not known yet whether this will employ capacitive technology. The OS will also see an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5, due to be released later this year. Because of this it is unlikely the X2 will make an appearance before the release of that OS.

The XPERIA X2 will also feature an impressive 8 megapixel camera and accelerometer. The phone seems to offer a side sliding actions similar to the Nokia N97 although it has a unique arcing curvature to it. Underneath is a full physical QWERTY keyboard for people who do not want to be too reliant on touch screen technology. More information will probably become available closer to its launch date.
