Sony Ericsson Vivaz Review
Overview
The Sony Ericsson Vivaz will wow you with its HD video capabilities.
Pros
The Sony Ericsson Vivaz has the ability to keep you entertained for a long time. You can make videos; watch videos; take pictures; look through your pictures; browse online and easily access social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook; navigate successfully using the phone’s inbuilt GPS receiver and Google Maps application; play games; listen to music – and more.
The highlight of the Vivaz, however, has to be its ability to play and record HD videos. The 8.1-megapixel camera comes with autofocus, touch focus, LED flash, geo-tagging and smile detection to ensure you can photograph high quality images. The display on the 3.2 inch touchscreen is very good, even topping the display on the
iPhone. However, the camera can still be topped – by the video recorder which comes with a video light and an incredible resolution.
Thanks to the screen’s vibrant and clear display, supporting 16 million colours, you can comfortably watch videos on the Sony Ericsson Vivaz. If you want to share your images with friends, you can choose between uploading onto sites like Picasa and YouTube, transferring to your PC via the USB connection, or making the most of the TV-out port.
The Sony Ericsson Vivaz will keep you aurally entertained as well as visually. The phone features a music player and FM radio with a good sound quality. The speaker and audio connector mean you can literally listen to music wherever you go – out loud when you’re socialising or in private for those quiet moments.
As you’d expect from such a high-end mobile phone, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz offers you multiple ways to stay in touch with your world. You can press the relevant icon on the screen and access Twitter and Facebook; chat online via instant messaging; send an email and read any Office documents which are attached; and send standard and multimedia text messages.
The design of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz is on a par with its internal technology. The rounded nature of this handset mean it fits nicely in the palm of your hand and it is only light (97g) so you can use the phone easily for as long as you need to. The portable nature of the Vivaz enhances its functions as you can carry it with you, ready for when you want to take a picture or shoot a video, listen to music or check your route using the Google Maps feature.
Cons
The Sony Ericsson Vivaz follows on from the
Satio and it is a slight shame the screen has been reduced from 3.5 inches on the Satio to 3.2 inches on the Vivaz.
Conclusion
For a mobile phone which offers you entertaining features alongside practical elements, together with a neat design and user-friendly interface – not to mention the HD video capabilities – the Sony Ericsson Vivaz is the one for you.
